PROJECT 306 :: 29

Boy, we haven't been home on a Saturday in a LONG time!!! We took advantage of the day to get lots of errands and projects done... cleaned the truck, went to the dump, rabies shots at the clinic, shopping at Target, Lowe's and Dick's. We had a nice, quiet dinner at our favorite little restaurant just down the street from home... The Train Stop. Great food and a nice little getaway after the day's hubbub.

WHAT'S NEW..... (This week)
Had an awesome agility trial at the Equestrian Barn on Saturday
Had a joyous Easter Sunday in Maine with kids and grandkids
Talked to everyone on the phone
Laughed at blog posts
Had one of those expensive grocery weeks (needed everything)
Had a taste of spring weather on Wednesday (58 degrees)
Took some nice walks on bare ground
Went to Bedford and shopped with Mom
Picked up my newly framed piece of Aussie Art
Talked to Kevin
Brought in wood.... we're on our last row. Yikes!!
Learned that Kevin might be published in the Journal of Behavioral Science
Got stuck in traffic for an hour on 495 coming back from agility
Got another dusting of snow!
Learned that water is coming in our electrical box in Maine
The sheetrock is almost complete
Now for the weekend......

PROJECT 306 :: 28

STUCK ON 495
Thought this accident would be cleared up on my way home from agility class..... Apparently NOT. Took me an hour for a 20 minute drive :(
AND.... what's with the SNOW!!!!!

AUSSIE AFTERNOON

This print was comissioned by the Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue Group here in Hudson, MA as a fundraiser. A girl that is in charge of the group takes agility class after mine and just couldn't resist bringing it to show me after she saw Tucker. I bought the print and just picked it up today after having it matted and framed at "Michaels". Now ... where to hang it????

PROJECT 306 :: 25

A New Family Favorite
This recipe is SO easy....
Line a mini muffin pan with mini cupcake papers
Make a box of brownie mix according to directions
Put a dolop of brownie mix in the bottom of each muffin cup
Unwrap some reese's miniature peanut butter cups
Press a peanut butter cup on top of the dolop of brownie mix in each cup
Cover the peanut butter cup with brownie mix to the top of cup
Bake at same oven temp as brownie mix requires
I baked them for a few minutes less than required on the brownie mix
Just keep checking them at the end as everyone's ovens are different
Makes about 30 little cupcake brownies
Great for the kids... and adults, too
Enjoy!!!

EASTER 2008

We had a fun day in Scarborough with Cindy, Josh, Kevin, Amy and the 6 grandkids. The big kids enjoy playing together and the babies are growing every time we see them. We had a delicious dinner of ham, scolloped potatoes (that contained beer), salad, biscuits and some wonderful desserts. We all actually managed to sit around the table for a couple of minutes during dinner this year and the kids had their own table. Enjoy the pictures....

PROJECT 306 :: 20

The 1995 Dodge Intrepid
Today I left the house at about 6:15 to go to the gym. After I finished my workout and shower, I left for Bedford to try and figure out what was wrong with the Dodge. Mom had been stranded the day before after her art classes with a car that wouldn't start. After she realized that her cell phone was dead and she couldn't find her AAA card ( one of her friends had both of them, luckily) she was finally able to get the car jumped and get home by dinner time. When I arrived the plan was to take the car to the repair shop to figure out the problem. But, the car wouldn't start again. We left the house to do some errands and get her some groceries and to figure out what to do with the car. When we got back, we unloaded the groceries and had lunch. We decided to roll the car out of the garage and jump it with my car. I followed Mom and Dad over to Sears so that the battery could be checked. After about 45 minutes, the battery was declared "bad" and still under warranty. They were able to drive away with a new battery for "free". Some guardian angel was with them today..... :0)

PROJECT 306 :: 14

IT'S SHOWTIME
Every spring our New England Aussie Club puts on shows to benefit the breed rescue program.
We have 4 shows and a raffle with some neat prizes. The best part of all is the parade at the end of the shows where we get to see and hear bio's of all the rescue dogs that our funds have helped over the years. It is really moving.

Groceries..... They just keep getting more expensive every week!!!

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

Hey check this out..... I'm sure we all have our stories :)

Leah Remini of The King of Queens will star in a new Web series about motherhood that will incorporate consumer-generated stories from moms into each episode.
Created by branding firm Mindshare Entertainment, In the Motherhood will premiere on MSN on May 11 at inthemotherhood.com. The five-episode series profiles the "ever-hectic but always humorous" lives of three mom girlfriends.
Hollywood screenwriters will develop the characters and storylines for each episode of Motherhood, based on the real-life stories submitted over the Internet and voted on by the online community. Visitors to the site will nominate the best entries on such topics as your child's worst public meltdown, funniest potty training story, and the funniest child-rearing advice from your mother-in-law.
In addition to MSN, the webisodes can be viewed on the Web sites of sponsors Suave and Sprint. On broadcast TV, Motherhood will be publicized, and clips or whole episodes--which run about five minutes long--will air on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, whose host will call on moms to submit their real-life stories and to vote on the best entries.
Remini, who stars in the show, is best known for her role as Carrie Heffernan in CBS's comedy series The King of Queens, which ends its nine-year run this year.
