My Birthday 2011
Mom told me I had to plan the day at her house so that she could take me somewhere special for my birthday lunch. I was SO surprised when we got to the restaurant and Barb and Cindy met us there. We had an elegant lunch and the decorations were so festive. We relaxed, laughed and chatted part of the afternoon away. I got some wonderful presents.. new boots, hand paintings of my dogs, a new "read" and a hand made scarf from my oldest grandson. But the best present of all was spending the afternoon with the girls and all the wonderful phone calls from my family. Thanks for making this a great birthday :)

Weird....
Saw this car in the parking lot of "Michaels" today. It was covered with every kind of plastic figurine, gnome, pez dispenser that you could imagine. Everyone who passed had a camera out to take photos. I wonder if it was really legal to drive? Seriously???
Dec 19th
Well, here I am at the crossroads of another birthday that ends in a "0". Not really the same feeling of anticipation as when I was able to add the number 1 or 2 to that "0" . The 3,4,and 5 seemed to go buy without much thought. There is definitely more of a pause today in adding the number 6 to front of that "0". But, I'm feeling healthy and happy... so bring on the "6" and we'll see where it takes me from here :)

Something "Old"... Something "New"

We purchased this tractor in April of 1981 just before Jeff was two years old. It was truly a workhorse and we have made lots of family memories because of it and heated houses with the cords of wood that it pulled out of the woods. The kids are grown now, we're older and there's a little less manpower to be had. He's been excited about this day for weeks now and today is the day the bigger tractor arrived. I'm sure it will be just as valuable for the rest of the days of our lives. Now we just need a bigger shed... but I'm told that's coming this summer :)
